Joakim Wrethed
Joakim Wrethed (PhD) is currently working as a senior lecturer in the English Department at Stockholm University. His research has to a great extent focused on the literary production of the Irish writer John Banville. Dr. Wrethed has contributed chapters on Banville to the collections Recovering Memory: Irish Representations of Past and Present (2007), Beyond Ireland: Encounters Across Cultures (2011)—which he also co-edited—and The Crossings of Art in Ireland (2014). He has published several articles on Banville in Nordic Irish Studies Journal. Wrethed’s current research is on Hugo von Hoffmannsthal’s influence on Banville’s work. In addition to his work on Banville, Wrethed has published articles on Margaret Atwood, Don DeLillo and Tom McCarthy.
